Valentini gold als één van de grootste vioolvirtuozen van het 18e eeuwse Rome. Van Valentini’s stijl van componeren wordt wel gezegd dat deze neigt tot extravagantie. De stukken zijn echter uitstekend geschikt voor de viool en daarnaast buitengewoon effectvol. Soms neigt Valentini tot het doen van harmonische experimenten en de keuze van, in zijn tijd, minder gebruikelijke toonsoorten (zoals B groot, As groot, fis klein). Dit maakt zijn muziek echter juist aantrekkelijk! |

Valentini was considered to be one of the greatest violin virtuosos of 18th century Rome. It was said that Valentini’s style of composing tended to be extravagant. His pieces are extremely well suited for the violin and extraordinarily effective. Sometimes Valentini inclined towards harmonic experiments and towards, for that period, unconventional keys (like B major, A-flat major and F-sharp minor). This is one of the things that makes his music attractive! |
