Johann Wilhelm Hertel was violist en clavecinist. Hij werkte achtereenvolgens in Neustrelitz en Schwerin. Hij componeerde , naast clavecimbelsonates en een groot aantal vioolsonates voornamelijk orkestmuziek. Van zijn hand verschenen talloze symfonieën en soloconcerten, onder andere voor viool, clavecimbel, trompet en hobo. Daarnaast componeerde hij oratoria, passiemuzieken, cantates en liederen.

Johann Wilhelm Hertel was violinist and harpsichordist. He worked subsequently in Neustrelitz and Schwerin. Apart from sonatas for harpsichord, he composed mainly orchestral music and sonatas for violin. He composed innumerable symphonies and concertos for the violin, harpsichord, trumpet and oboe. In addition he composed oratorios, passions, cantatas and songs. |
